Solihull College & University Centre Latest FE Provider to be Admitted to the Chartered Institution for Further Education

Midlands based Solihull College & University Centre are the latest FE provider to have secured membership to the Chartered Institution for Further Education. The College was formed following a merger with Stratford Upon Avon College in 2018 and offers a range of courses including full and part time, Higher Education and bespoke training to employers. The College boasts excellent facilities including an animal welfare centre, virtual reality lab, an aircraft hangar and flight simulators.

Lindsey Stewart, Acting Principal said: “Being awarded Chartered status today is something we are all very proud of. The College is the lead for the Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology and works extensively with industry, colleges and universities across the region to drive innovation for the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership.”

Dawn Ward CBE, Deputy Chair of the Chartered Institution for Further Education added: “Solihull College and University Centre has always been a leading College in the Midlands delivering excellence for its local communities and I am delighted that we have been able to award them Chartered Status. Becoming a member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education is not easy and requires providers to demonstrate excellence in all they do and how this impacts significantly on learners, staff and wider communities. I would like to congratulate Solihull College & University Centre for this fantastic achievement.”

Chartered status was given to the College at an admissions ceremony in London where Barbara Hughes, Chair of Governors, accepted the accolade on behalf of the College.
