Professional Recognition & CPD Programme – join the pilot

The pilot phase of the CIFE Professional Recognition and CPD Programme is now running. The framework is designed to recognise and promote the importance of industry linked professional development for high quality, relevant and impactful technical and professional education.

We know that CPD is essential but increasingly challenging for organisations to provide in a consistent and structured way. The Chartered Institution is offering a clear criteria for recognising industry specific professional development. It will support the maintenance of the dual practice concept that is integral to FE, aid in driving career aspirations and incentivising excellence with all staff across FE organisations because industry linked CPD can apply equitably to those in teaching and non-teaching roles.

During the pilot phase, individuals from Member organisations that opt to participate will be able to register for the programme and, once ready to meet the criteria, apply for recognition. They will maintain their recognition status through continued professional development linked to industry and have the opportunity to progress to higher levels of recognition as they accumulate evidence of impact from their CPD and associated experience within the wider FE sector and community.

The development of the framework and CPD recognition programme has drawn on a wide range of insight derived from Member organisations, who have generously given their time to research discussions, and as well as benchmarking with other professional programmes operating in comparable sectors.

Member organisations can register their interest in advance for places on the pilot scheme to be made available to nominated employees. Please email secretariat@fecharter.org.uk to make an expression of interest and discuss registration for staff.
