Bolton College latest Further Education provider to achieve Chartered Status

Bolton College are today celebrating after becoming the latest further education college to become a member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education (CIFE). Bolton College has over 10,000 learners and delivers a wide range of courses to adults, young people, community provision and Apprenticeships. The College joined the University of Bolton Group in 2018 in a move that has been hugely successful for the area providing clear progression opportunities and access to outstanding facilities for learners.

Speaking of the achievement, Bill Webster, Principal of Bolton College said: “We are delighted to have secured Chartered status for Bolton College and this announcement is testament to the fantastic achievements of our learners and staff. Being a member of the CIFE is a brilliant accolade for our college and provides us with a status that is understood by employers and professionals alike as so many sectors and occupations have their own chartered body. We are proud to be making this announcement today.”

Dawn Ward CBE, Deputy Chair of the CIFE added: “We are thrilled that Bolton College has become a member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education. Securing Chartered status is not easy and requires Further Education providers to demonstrate excellence in all they do. Particularly in how they support their local communities in the provision of skills and education that drives economic development and ensures communities thrive. Bolton College are a clear example of a Further Education provider delivering excellence for the communities that they serve.”

Membership of the CIFE was conferred upon the College at an admissions ceremony in London where their College was represented by the Chair of their Board Dr Andrew Roberts.
